BVI COMPANY SEARCH GUIDE
What a BVI company search shows—and what it does not.
An official BVI company search is an important starting point for client or counterparty due diligence. But it is a snapshot of Registry information at one moment, not an ongoing warning system.
Start with the official Registry snapshot
The BVI Financial Services Commission provides a public search service for registered entities. For a BVI Business Company or Foreign Company, the FSC says each Search Report includes the company name and number, type, incorporation date, status description and status date, current registered agent and agent address, registered office address, share or capital information, previous-name history, transaction history and certificate history.
We can obtain this Official BVI Company Report for you for $50, including the Registry fee, our fulfilment service and the first month of Additional Due Diligence. The report is delivered privately. Additional Due Diligence then continues at $29 per company each month until cancelled.
What the Search Report does not do
- It does not monitor the company after the report date.
- It does not tell you whether a later Gazette notice, published court judgment or other public event will appear.
- It does not replace a certificate of good standing, legal opinion, sanctions screening, credit assessment or wider due diligence where those are required.
- It does not populate or verify the public company profile on BVI Offshore Intelligence.

Where Offshore Intelligence fits
Additional Due Diligence uses public-source information only. The company profile covers BVI Official Gazette notices, published BVI court material, BVI FSC public publications and UK and UN sanctions lists. Ongoing alerts are included for reviewed changes filed or published after activation.
Private Official BVI Company Reports remain separate. Their contents are never copied into a public profile or used to enrich the alerts database.
